This Motif is often found in Samoan and Polynesian carvings and can either be taken as the Sei (Flower) or the Footprint (of shore birds in the sand).
The Coconut Structure which supports the Motif is erected in the frame of a High Chiefs Chair upon which he sits and attends to matters at hand.
